In the Windmill of my Mind

President Bush farsightedness is an overstatement!

Blind as his binoculars! This photograph of President Bush that I stumbled across at a blog speaks for itself. It does not need me to add more venom to how the rest of the World perceives President George W Bush.

Actually, the photograph is so illustrative of one of several ugly traits of this person. On seeing the photograph, it made me burst out with laughter. There could not be any more persuasive damning evidence of this person.

EUSEBIO of Portugal is my football legend

One of the undisputed sport entertainment in the World belongs to Football. It captivates the imagination of both young and elderly. To the dour they say that it is a game where 22 players chase an idiot leather ball. For the football die hard fan to describe football in that manner is tantamount to being sacrilegous.

Back in my school days, I played fooball for my School team as well as for a local club. I played right wing postion for both teams. The reason being that I could run fast. That’s what they figured my speed was good for the rest of the team. Run with the ball like crazy down the right flank and lob the ball to the foward players gathered at the goal mouth. Well, it is not as simple as I describe it.

From among the legends who grace the Football Hall of Fame, I have always held Eusebio with my highest esteem. I was still a teen when Eusebio confirmed his prowess in the game. It was at the 1966 World Cup that the rest of the World came to know about his lightning fast acceleration and wonderful dribbling skills.

Such was his greatness at the game that he was nicknamed, The Black Panther. Imagine a panther let loose; yeah, I am sure you get the picture of Eusebio now. He is famed for his spectacular shot with his powerful running and dribbling skills, all which contributed to Eusebio being one of the most dangerous strickers during that era.

His achievements were:

European Footballer of the Year 1966
World Cup Top Scorer 1966 – 9 goals, European Cup 1962
Portuguese Cup 1962, 1964, 1969, 1970, 1972
He was the Portuguese League’s top scorer in 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970 and 1973. He was the European top scorer in both 1968 (42 goals) and 1973 (40 goals).
He played 715 games and scored 727 goals

Regrettably, my football legend in 1974, at the age of 32 was forced by a knee injury to end his football career.

Let’s talk about Blogger Security

Whilst for the most part, bloggers may think that blogs is the new age fad, just how many out there who blog away relentlessly are aware of the security threats that lurk within blogosphere and in general throughout the internet? So said Thomas Kempis – what man proposes, God disposes. In plagarised manner, it would be apt to say – what blogger proposes, hackers disposes.

Just do a Google search on the “blogger security” and there is enough reading that would take a month or more to read on the matter. The first site that appeared on Google search has this to say:

I have heard many a blogger say that blogging fills a need. While blogging provides a humanizing effect on news and journaling, it also opens a window into personal lives. The details shared in blogs were once only available to a select group of friends, and while blogging has become common place, it has risks that should not be ignored.

Cyberstalking is a new phenomenon that allows anonymous online stalkers to prowl for victims. Online bloggers traditionally provide personal details about their lives. As a result, many women that blog are becoming victims. Most people are concerned about children on the Internet and set up rigorous posting guidelines for children, adolescents, and teenagers, but few adults heed the warnings and often do not consider that they too can be targeted.

Females, in particular, should be cautious when circumnavigating the blogosphere.

For the naieve and the uninitiated in blogosphere, how much security does the blog provider offer and guarantee? How far does their responsibility extend? It’s a free service with the fine print User Licence agreement that none of us really bother to read – so what’s the beef?

There are some so-called effective mechanisms that assist the blog’s owner to stave off hostile intruders but as we all know, IP bans, Password protection and short of calling in the Marines are totally ineffective to a stop a person who is obsessively bent in pursuit of successfully making his mark on a blogsite.

The arsenal of hacking and probing devices that are out there, it would belittle America’s mighty defence system to say the least.

I end with this reference; Sharon Housley gives valuable advice to Bloggers who should be aware of the dangers that lurk. Her website is a must-read for all Bloggers.

Apparently there people out there with nothing else but dark intentions. I received an email from Messrs. EmailMeForm informing me that I requested for a password change to my account.
